Important Release Notes

Below are some current issues with Alerts that you should be aware of:

  • Handango refuses to carry my products and reneges on my Raffle prize! Read more about this...

  • Upgrading from v1.0 to v2.0 of John Cody's Alerts! Pro:

You do not need to uninstall version 1.0 to install version 2.0

You need to install v2.0 in the same memory location (i.e. "Phone" or "Storage Card") as v1.0 in order for 2.0 to see your existing data file (alert list).

If you are using the data file from v1.0, due to a data format change, you need to re-specify the days-of-the-week for any weekly alerts you have.

There is a new "View Recurring Reminders" filter option, which is not enabled by default for existing users. So, please click Menu....View...View Recurring Reminders to see any recurring reminders.

  • Orange Phone Customers - If you are an Orange phone customer, and you get an error similar to "This application does not have sufficient rights to install..." when you try to install Alerts, then you might need to "Unlock" your phone so it will allow you to install Alerts. Just go to This Page and follow the directions to unlock your Orange phone.

  • Motorola Q Users - Bluetooth switching: There appears to be a bug in Q devices that does not allow third-party apps to change the bluetooth mode. If anyone knows of a third-party app that can switch the bluetooth mode on a Q, please Let Me Know so I can find out how they did it.

  • Nextel i930 Users - The below website offers a way to unlock your phone so you can install unsigned apps! (like Vnotes) -
  • T-Mobile SDA Users - The below pages offer a way to application unlock your phone so you can install non-digitally signed apps:

  • Request a FREE Trial-Extension code - If you got caught up with other things and find yourself running out of trial days before you are able to really dig into Alerts!, have no fear - just request a FREE Trial Extension Code !
